A client of ours in London came to us for IT Support and Office Relocation works. This was planned to perfection to make sure we gave the best possible outcome at the end of the works on schedule.
Planning is the biggest part of any office relocation, making sure that there are strict planning goals to reach before moving onto the next step.
The planning for this project was undertaken over 2 site visits, taking measurements and planning desk positioning. We then moved onto creating a floor plan with floor box numbering and number of ports in each box, accounting for expansion along the way (a key part of a new office).
Then came the server room, relocating to an office with a server room at around 10ft by 12ft had both pros and cons but we managed to fit everything in with room to spare for some extra storage behind lock and key.
We had a strict timescale to work to with this project as there were only 2 weeks from confirmation of the new lease to the old office lease expiring so time was not on our side for this and any problems/mistakes would cost us time that we could not afford.
Included in re-cabling, building a VOIP PBX system with 40 phones and patching the server room we had to complete a full rewire of the office including floor boxes.
We chose the hardware carefully with a budget set with our client. Below is our choice of hardware that we agreed with to match what was needed.

- HP Microserver Gen 8 – 2TB HDD & 4GB RAM – PBX Server
- 2000 Metres of CAT 5 Cable
- Draytek 2860 dual WAN router
- Spitfire Lease Lined – 100/100 symmetric line
- 4x Netgear Wireless Access Points
We completed the project with half a day spare, our client was amazed that we managed to get the whole office re-cabled, PBX completed, phones setup & computers connected in just under 2 weeks start to finish. Everything that was planned for worked perfectly and with no hic-ups along the way.
